Toby Ann's surgery update
Toby Ann had surgery last week and I am happy to report that she is doing well. She has been in more pain than we expected and for longer than expected, but it looks like she is finally getting past that phase. She had a lot less pain yesterday and seems to be pain free so far this morning. If you want to read about the surgery stuff, you can check out this link
surgery details
That link tells about the surgery and if you look around on the blog you can see pictures and post-op stories.

quotable quotes 2
"If you don't have a head and it's time to go to bed, you don't need a pillow." ~ Ruby (who was very serious when she said it). Then Toby Ann said, "If you don't have and a head and you don't have an arm, you can't pick things up."
"When I'm a mom, I'm not going to know all the stuff you know, Mommy." ~ Ruby (who was really worried she wouldn't know all that stuff)
"When I grow up and I'm a mommy, I'm really going to miss you Mommy, 'cause I won't get to see you everyday." ~Toby Ann (who is stuck to Mommy like glue)

quotable quotes installment one
My kids say that darndest things.
A few days ago, Daisy, who can be a handful, asked this question: "Mom, when I grow up and have kids, are they going to act like me?" My reply? Well, I just smiled and said, "Absolutely. Times 10." She just got that uh-oh look on her face and made no further comment.
Today at the pool, Toby Ann was sitting in the chair beside me just eating some goldfish. Suddenly, I heard this giggling. I turned to her and asked her what was so funny. She replied, "I said something funny in my head." She never did share what she was "saying in her head" but her sweet giggles were enough to make me smile.

My Amazing Family
These are my real kids. These kids are all my real kids. These kids are all my own.
They are all my own. There are 6 of them and they were born on three different continents, in three different countries and when we filled out the last census, our family listed three different races (which actually earned us a call for clarification from the census folks). But they are all my real kids.
Only God could create an amazing family like mine. Only God could bring together something so beautiful. I am truly blessed beyond all measure with 6 amazing and amazingly real kids. Each one with his or her own personality, appearance, quirks, sense of style. Each one with his or her own strong points and weaknesses. Each one uniquely and wonderfully made. Each one held in the hand of God and bearing the mark of his love.
Yes, these are my real kids. Six amazing blessings, each one as real as can be.
